Over The Years...
Our Love Story
We were intentional about learning about each other via social media and the telephone. We quickly realized that we both had found the treasure of a lifetime in each other. Brandon called his friend Jasmine the day after the first date, on July 25, 2021, and told her ‘I’m going to marry this one’. Shamol also wanted nothing less than to spend every second with Brandon.
Our first date lasted over 8 hours and consisted of competitive games, enjoying each other's company at Cooper’s Hawk, followed by dancing the night away. Of course, Shamol beat Brandon and won the competitive games that night, but the photographic receipts speak otherwise. Either way, we were both good sports! We repeated these activities on the anniversary of our first date, and the result was synonymous with the first - Brandon was "supposedly" victorious.
We have a connection that has remained pure, genuine, and full of love, laughs, & intentionality. Fast forward a couple of years to when Shamol got down on one knee, this time on the day after Brandon’s birthday, to confess his everlasting love for Brandon and desire to spend their remaining lives together in marriage. It's truly a blessing when your dreams manifest into reality. We are both excited to see what forever looks like.
Brandon's Story
In the words of Albus Dumbledore, ‘Mysterious thing, Time. Powerful, and when meddled with, dangerous. I’m reminded of this when I think about how the man that I love has occupied the same space and time as me for years – from the halls of Tampa General Hospital, through the Bay Area streets, to the itty-bitty city of Sanford; yet it wasn’t time for us to meet, that is, until three years ago.
This is the part of the story that my fiancé seems to have had a lapse in memory. ‘What had happened was’… Well, picture it: Facebook. The year was 2020. I sent a friend request to ‘Shamol Will’, which went unanswered until TWO THOUSAND-TWENTY ONE, to which I slid in his DMs to wish him a Feliz Cumpleanos (thanks Duolingo). The rest is history.
Shamol's Story
How often do you connect with the love of your life? Not only that, you then realize this person has been in your exact vicinity unknowingly for years. It's our reality of manifestation, intentionality, and love. Brandon and I resided in the cities of Tampa and Sanford during similar years. We also worked in the same hospital. But we remained strangers, never crossing paths.
Well, this all changed the day he slid into my DMs. The ABSOLUTE TRUTH is that I received a Facebook friend request on February 20, 2021, for which I IMMEDIATELY accepted. His message read "Happy birthday!" Although it was a day late, I responded "Thank you, sir! Much appreciated." It was that connection that ignited our love story.
